Susan Medlin of Boise, Idaho, an environmental
engineer and longtime chicken owner, designed the Backyard Chicken Barn
with the needs of people with small back yards in mind.
The powdercoated aluminum design means that the Backyard Chicken Barn
weighs only 38 pounds, making it very easy for 2 people to pick up and
move whenever necessary. (Having an especially cold spell? Move them
inside the garage. Going on vacation? Take it to a neighbor's yard.)
But we didn't have to tell you that - it's obvious! Susan designed the
English-style Barn herself and commissioned the two pieces of artwork
from a local artist: the sweet decal reminiscent of mid-20th century
barn advertising on the roof, and one of three chicken portraits on
the back.

As pictured at right, the side panel folds down to reveal a removable
droppings tray for cleaning. Hens lay eggs in the back of the Barn, also
easy to reach from the side panel.
Don't worry about having to purchase a waterer and feeder separately -
they're included!
Free with your purchase is a handy, short reference guide including
chicken facts and answers to common questions, plus everything you need
to know about using your new chicken coop.
