Most orders placed with My Pet Chicken will leave our warehouse within 1 business day of your purchase date.
Orders placed Saturday and Sunday will be shipped the following business day. If you're
in a rush and need your order to ship immediately, just call 888-460-1529! We love making our customers
happy - there's a good chance we'll be able to help you out.
Note: This policy does NOT include items such as chicken coops, baby chicks or any other items on our website that have
provisos indicating shipping will take longer than normal.
If you would like to take delivery at a P.O. Box, we will mail your package via an equivalent option
from the U.S. Postal Service, or if that's not possible we will call or email you to come up with an
alternate solution.
When you're purchasing live baby chicks, our website requires the Express Mail shipping option for small
orders of chicks when you check out. Express is the fastest, most effective and most humane method available
for shipping baby chicks! If you have ordered non-live items as well, choosing Next Day shipping will NOT get
your chicks, eggs or started pullets to you faster. Likewise, choosing Ground shipping will not mean your chicks
will ship more slowly. Choosing a different shipping method in those cases only affects the non-live items in your
basket that do have shipping method choices; it does not affect the chicks. When you purchase a small order of live
chicks and other items at the same time, your shipping method will read "Express Mail (for chicks only) +
<the shipping method you chose for your non-live items >." We ship our birds taking the best possible care;
there is no way to change the shipping speed of your birds.
Ground shipping takes up to 10 business days and is our most economical shipping option. Depending on
the ship-to address and the product being shipped, Ground may include any of the following services:
UPS Ground, Fed Ex Ground, USPS Priority Mail, Parcel Post or First Class Mail. Regardless of
the shipping service used, we guarantee delivery within 10 business days.
Third Day is a great option if you're not sure whether Ground will deliver your package on time. Keep
in mind that third day takes 1 day to process your order and 3 business days to ship, so if you place
your order on Monday for Third Day, it is guaranteed to arrive on Friday (though it may come sooner).
Likewise, if you place your order on Saturday, it is guaranteed to arrive on Thursday (ship Monday +
3 business days in transit).
Need your package even faster? Second Day is a great choice. Remember, it still takes one business day
for orders to leave our warehouse. Once they "fly the coop", so to speak, they'll arrive to your door within
2 business days.
Need it yesterday? Next Day service is for you! We'll ship your item within 24 hours, and it will arrive
within 1 business day of the time we ship it.
