Of all the ornamental chicken breeds, the Silkie Bantam is one of the most beloved, and for good reason!  These fluffy little birds look as if they're covered with fur rather than feathers.

Silkies are actually fairly good layers, although their eggs are small and the hens often take breaks in laying to go broody and try to hatch eggs! They are stubborn broodies, but will make wonderful mothers if you want to hatch future batches of eggs in the way mother nature intended. The Seussian fluffer-nutters have fun personalities and are one of the most entertaining chickens to watch. They are adorable with a brood of babies. They are also some of the cutest little chicks we have. With their dark skin, fluffy heads and extra toes, they really stand out!

Silkies have an incredibly sweet temperament, and are calm, friendly birds. The Red Silkies that you'll hatch from these eggs will come both bearded and non-bearded.

We guarantee that the fertile hatching eggs you order from us will arrive intact and ready for incubation. If any eggs for which you have paid arrive cracked or broken, contact us within two business days of receiving them with photos of the damage.

IMPORTANT: Receiving unbroken eggs is NOT a guarantee that they will all hatch. Why? Read more, here.

Unfortunately, we are unable ship hatching eggs to Hawaii.
