This collection of Marans is extremely rare and may include any of the following breeds:
Black Copper Marans
White Marans
Golden Cuckoo Marans
Blue Splash Marans
Due to very limited availability, we will accept a maximum order of 15 of this assortment.
Marans --"Marans" is always with an "s" even when singular--are lightly feathered down the leg, and are good layers of beautiful, chocolate-colored eggs. Splash Marans tend to lay lighter eggs than the others, while Black Coppers lay the darkest. They are all typically docile, friendly birds, and can tend toward fatness as they get older. Remember that shell color fades as the laying season progresses, as with all breeds, and will darken again after a break in laying (such as after a molt).
The Black Copper Marans and the Blue Splash Marans are the only vareties listed here that is offered individually. None of the others are available for sale individually as chicks, so if you want rare Marans chicks, this is the way to get them! All of these Marans varieties, and others, are available from My Pet Chicken as hatching eggs, however.
This collection of baby chicks is hatchery choice, and may be fulfilled with any of the varieties that hatch well on your shipping week. A variety is not always guaranteed, although we try to fulfill with different varieties when possible.
