Chicken saddles—also called aprons or feather protectors—are used to help prevent feather loss from over-mating or feather pecking. (Please note: we recommend determining what is causing the picking in your flock so you can address the source of the problem while the saddle helps you to alleviate the effects.)
Material is quilting fabric that is lined with cotton flannel for extra padding or warmth.
With one end of the tape measure even with the wing joint on their upper back, measure down the mid-line of their back to the base of their tail. You can use that measurement to choose what size your bird will need.
Small: 5.5 inches long, 5 inches wide
Medium: 7 inches long, 7.5 inches wide
Large: 9 inches long, 9.5 inches wide
