This combined starter is formulated specifically for ducklings alongside chicks, unlike chicken-only starters that fall short on niacin for waterfowl. If you're raising chicks and ducklings together, this is the feed to use.
The main difference is niacin level and who it's formulated for. The chick-only soy-free starter is built around chickens' nutritional needs, while this version adds the higher niacin ducklings require for healthy leg and joint development. If you have ducklings in the brooder, even mixed in with chicks, reach for this one. The chick-only starter isn't adequate for ducks.
No. The grain base is organic peas, milo (grain sorghum), wheat, oats, and rice protein, so there's no corn in this feed. If you need to avoid both soy and corn, this one fits.
