The Four Piece Sampler adds a half pint of the Very Dark, Strong Flavor Commercial grade.
The Very Dark, Strong Flavor grade is a commercial grade made from late-season sap. It's pure maple syrup, but it can have a late-season "buddy" aftertaste, and it isn't typical of the syrup this sugarhouse usually bottles. Some people love it and some don't. We don't recommend it for pancakes or ice cream. It's a great pick for baking, granola and recipes, where its strong maple flavor holds its own with other ingredients.
