Description:

This 100% natural poultry wormer (or "dewormer," as some folks call it) is safe and natural for your flock, and contains added probiotics! There is no so-called "withdrawal period," which means you don't have to worry about throwing away your eggs during treatment. Plus you won't have to worry about parasites developing an immunity to it, either, since its action is purely mechanical.

Organic WormGuard Plus Contains:

  • Food-Grade Diatomaceous Earth -- To kill the worms without chemicals!
  • Whole Flax Seed -- For healthy Omega 3 and Omega 6 fatty acids.
  • Grape Seed Extract -- Contains potent antioxidants for improved immune system, circulation, and skin.
  • 4 strains of Lactic Acid Bacteria -- To improve digestion and boost immune system.
Other Benefits Include:

  • Stimulating basic metabolism better feed conversion
  • Reducing odor and moisture in your coop
  • Keeping fly larvae from developing in manure
  • Eliminating worms and internal parasites without chemicals.
Directions: Add 3 cups to each 50 lb of feed, or add 1 TBSP to each 1 lb of feed. Mix well and feed as usual. Use daily to control intestinal parasites. There are approximately 9 cups per 2 lb pkg.

(If intestinal worms are suspected, consider offering additional, poultry-specific probiotics, containing beneficial micro-organisms shown to improve overall health.)

Frequently Asked Questions

This product works mechanically, not chemically. The food-grade diatomaceous earth damages parasites physically rather than acting as a drug that gets absorbed into your hens' system. Since nothing pharmaceutical enters the bloodstream, nothing passes into the eggs. You keep eating them throughout treatment.
WormGuard works best as a daily feed additive for ongoing prevention rather than a rescue treatment for an active infestation. Mix it into every batch of feed and you're building continuous protection. If you're already seeing worm symptoms in your birds, it's worth having a vet run a fecal float test - some worm types need a pharmaceutical treatment to clear them fully, and knowing what you're dealing with helps you get the right fix.
For a backyard flock of 10 hens eating around 5 pounds of feed a day, a 2 lb bag lasts about a month. At one tablespoon per pound of feed, you're going through roughly 5 tablespoons a day, and the bag holds around 9 cups (144 tablespoons). Bigger flocks will run through it faster.
